More than 10,000 daffodils were in full bloom along rivers and farm roads in Okinoshima Town, Shimane Prefecture, and an event was held there to raise money for the areas affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake.

In the Goka district of Okinoshima Town, Shimane Prefecture, over 10,000 daffodils are planted along rivers and farm roads, and the yellow flowers are in full bloom at this time of year.

Kazushi Fujita, a local, has been growing about 1,000 daffodils from his garden each year for over 10 years.

Mr. Fujita said, ``It was cold this year and flowering was delayed, but I want to continue to manage it as much as possible.''

An event was held for the first time on March 31st to coincide with the peak of the season, and people from the town performed music and showed off their kendama skills.

Additionally, a donation box will be set up at the venue, and the entire amount will be donated to Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, which was also damaged by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake and is also home to a famous daffodil spot.

A woman visiting from Izumo City said, ``Seeing the daffodils made me feel happy. I want to come again.''

Marika Ikeda of the Gokahana Village Development Council, a group of local residents who organized the event, said, ``The daffodils in Goka are truly beautiful, so we want to use them to help build the community and make it lively.''
