Professor of the Arabic language at the Kuwait International College of Law, Dr. Muhammad Hassan Al-Tayyan, says that the Holy Qur’an is a miracle of statement, for which God chose the greatest language that can accommodate this statement, which is the Arabic language, adding that it is the most beautiful and broadest language in the world, according to many researchers.
In today's episode (3/31/2024) of the "Sharia and Life in Ramadan" program, Al-Tayyan discussed the status and virtue of the Arabic language and the miracle of the Holy Qur'an. In his speech, he touched on the Qur'an's unparalleled clarification and eloquence.
The Arabic language professor believes that history has not known a people who excelled in rhetoric as the Arabs did well, nor has it known a nation that valued rhetoric and placed it in the highest position as the Arabs valued it and respected the eloquent word, to the point that it was said that the Arab nation “prostrated to the rhetoric before it prostrated to idols.”
He added that the Qur’an was revealed with a letter and an explanation, and nothing in the universe is greater or higher, and this is what the people who excelled at it were incapable of, indicating that the miracle of every prophet was always of the same type as what his people excelled in, so the miracle of the Prophet Muhammad - may God bless him and grant him peace - was in the statement. And eloquence is revealed by the Holy Qur’an.
In the language of instinct
Regarding the inability of Arabs and Muslims in this era to touch this miracle simply by hearing, as was the case with Arabs in the early eras, Al-Tayyan explained that this is due to the difference in time and the change of faculties. Arabs in the past enjoyed the “eloquence of innate nature,” which made them shake and be affected by simply hearing the Qur’an. And his statement.
He went on to confirm that the Arabs previously, when they heard the Book of God, understood it and understood its goals and the secrets of its miracles without the need for the sciences of meanings and explanation, and this is what came later when the Arabs lost that instinct after they mixed with the non-Arabs and the melody spread among them.
Regarding the status of the Arabic language, Dr. Muhammad Al-Tayyan said that, in his estimation and the assessment of those who know it among the specialists, it is the most beautiful, broadest, and greatest language in the world of languages, and God chose it to be the language of the Qur’an because of its advantages and characteristics. Because it is the broadest language in its range, it allows the letters of any other language to be spoken.
He pointed out that one of the advantages of the Arabic language is the system of roots and derivation, as the language is based on 11,000 roots, from which millions of words are generated, which gives it a richness that cannot be found in any other language. Also, among its advantages are the morphology and grammar systems.

In this context, Al-Tahan believes that the Arabic language is strangely standard, and makes one stand in amazement in front of this huge amount of words that the language itself generates!
He added that one of the miracles of the Qur’an is the ability of non-Arabs to memorize it perfectly, even with their inability to speak Arabic, considering this a secret of the Qur’an and one of its miracles.
Al-Tayyan stressed that the Qur’an cannot be classified as poetry or prose, but rather it is a sophisticated literary genre with music far superior to the music of poetry, and among what it includes are all the meters of poetry, but of a different type.
Regarding the claim that the Qur’an contains foreign words, Dr. Muhammad Al-Tayyan said, “There are words whose origins are foreign, but they entered Arabic through what is called Arabization, which is taking the word with its original letters from its language, subjecting it to Arabic standards and scales, and after that it becomes Arabic.
