A motorcyclist died in a serious accident in Schellerten in the Hildesheim district. According to initial findings, the 88-year-old went off the road to the right in a left-hand bend, the police said on Sunday. There he crashed into a wall. Residents who noticed the accident called emergency services and provided first aid.
Despite the help of an emergency doctor, the man died at the scene of the accident. According to the police, it was still unclear how the accident occurred on Saturday evening.
