The symbolic windmill of Funabashi Andersen Park in Chiba Prefecture has completed renovation work and began operating on the 30th for the first time in about five and a half years, attracting many visitors.

"Funabashi Andersen Park" is a park in Funabashi City that is approximately eight times the size of Tokyo Dome.As it is a sister city with Hans Christian Andersen's hometown, Odense City in Denmark, it has buildings and plazas that are inspired by scenes from fairy tales. is provided.



Among these, the "Powder Mill", which was built about 30 years ago and has become a popular symbol of the park, has stopped operating its blades since 2018 due to deterioration, but after renovation work was completed on the rotating shaft, etc. It started operating after a year and a half.



On the 30th, a large number of parents and children came to see the windmills spinning in the morning, enjoying looking at the 22-meter-diameter blades and taking photos.



The construction work was carried out by craftsmen from Denmark, costing approximately 130 million yen, and when the city solicited donations to cover part of the repair costs, approximately 7 million yen was raised.

You can see the windmills spinning on weekends and holidays, and until the 21st of next month there will be flower beds shaped like the Danish flag.
