This year's Beijing Film Festival invited Brazil as the guest country and added a Diplomat Film Season to use film as a medium to promote international film and television exchanges, promote cultural cooperation, and continue to expand the "circle of friends" for international exchanges.

  Yu Junsheng, vice chairman and secretary-general of the Beijing International Film Festival Organizing Committee, introduced at a press conference held on the 28th that this year’s Beijing Film Festival, with the theme of “Mutual Learning from Light and Shadow, Mutual Benefit from Like-minded People”, will be organized within 9 days. There are more than 100 events including "Tiantan Award" awards, opening and closing ceremonies and red carpet ceremonies, Beijing screenings, "Beijing Planning·Theme Forum", University Student Film Festival, Closing Ceremony and Awards Ceremony.

  The international jury for this year's Beijing Film Festival's "Tiantan Award" has a total of seven people, and the chairman of the jury is Serbian director Emil Kusturica. In terms of participating films, the total number of film registrations was 4,273. Among them, the main competition unit "Tiantan Award" received a total of 1,509 feature film registrations from 118 countries and regions, and the number reached a new high. Among the 15 finalists, 12 are foreign films and 3 are domestic films.

  A total of 16 screening units have been planned for the Beijing screening, and more than 240 domestic and foreign masterpieces have been selected, which are planned to be screened in theaters in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. At the same time, for the first time, three centralized movie-viewing belts will be created along Chang'an Avenue, the Western University Movie-watching Belt, and the Northern Movie-watching Belt.

  This year’s Beijing Film Festival will strengthen exchanges and interactions among international filmmakers and continue to deepen exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations. Ambassadors from the Embassy of Brazil in China, the Embassy of Seychelles in China, the Embassy of the Republic of Gabon in China, and other embassies of the countries where the shortlisted film creators and key guests belong, as well as the chairmen of several international film festivals, will come to Beijing for exchanges.

  This year's Beijing Film Festival will also set up the Diplomat Film Season for the first time to promote international film and television exchanges and promote international cooperation through shared film viewing; it will also set up the "Beijing Film Festival International Living Room" for the first time to provide more exchange opportunities for cooperation between Chinese and foreign film and television institutions; from the United States Distributor representatives from , France, the United Kingdom, Japan and other countries, as well as filmmakers from Poland, the Netherlands, Australia, Singapore and other countries will also come to Beijing to participate in the Beijing Film Festival.
