A 25-year-old member of the Takarazuka Revue died, and the bereaved family was seeking an apology and compensation. On the 28th, the company acknowledged that power harassment had occurred and apologized to the bereaved family. At the same time, they will announce measures to prevent recurrence, including a review of rehearsal schedules, and the question will be whether they can change the management system that had been left to the workplace.

In September of last year, a 25-year-old member of Takarazuka Revue's Cosmos Troupe died, and the bereaved family had requested an apology and compensation, claiming that the cause was power harassment from an upperclassman. He held a press conference on the 28th and announced that he had signed an agreement with the bereaved family.

After admitting to the bereaved family that power harassment had occurred, Kazuo Kado, chairman of Hankyu Hanshin Holdings, the parent company of Hankyu Corporation, which operates the opera troupe, met directly with the bereaved family and apologized.

At the same time, the opera company has announced measures to prevent recurrence, including revising rehearsal schedules to reduce the burden, as well as abolishing traditionally passed down rules and teaching methods that no longer fit the times. The company plans to encourage a change in the mindset of theater company members by expanding harassment training.

In addition, Hankyu Corporation will establish a new organization comprised of outside experts to receive advice on reforms and create a system to strengthen the group's involvement in operations.

At a press conference, Hankyu Hanshin Holdings President Yasuo Shimada said, ``We will do our best to reform the Takarazuka Revue Company so that it will be recognized as being reborn as a new Takarazuka Revue Company,'' adding that from now on, operations that had previously been left to the field will be changed. The question is whether you can change it.
