JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) announced on the night of the 27th that it had confirmed a response from the spacecraft ``SLIM,'' which was Japan's first successful landing on the moon. This is the second time since February that the spacecraft has been through a lunar night with temperatures as low as -170 degrees Celsius, and it has used its onboard camera to take photographs of the lunar surface.

SLIM, an unmanned probe developed by JAXA and others, successfully landed on the moon for the first time in Japan in January this year. Communication was re-established in February due to the sun's orientation.

After that, night fell again at the landing site, but on the night of the 27th when light shone on the landing site, JAXA confirmed a response from the spacecraft and was able to establish communication. It was announced that it was successful in the night.

According to JAXA, SLIM is not designed to withstand the low temperatures of moonlit nights, but it has successfully survived the harsh moonlit nights twice.

Based on the data sent from the spacecraft this time, although a malfunction was confirmed with the temperature sensor, etc., the spacecraft's functions were maintained, and the on-board camera was used to take pictures of the lunar surface. about it.
