At Tokyo University of the Arts, which does not yet have a school song, students played the school song of its predecessor, Tokyo Fine Arts School, and performed it at a concert on the night of the 27th.

The song that was performed was an arrangement of the school song of the predecessor Tokyo School of Fine Arts, written around 1930 by poet Yanagi Kawaji and composed by Kosaku Yamada. Volunteer students from Tokyo University of the Arts performed the lyrics

. I completed it

by changing some parts

and creating my own original score by adding orchestral and Japanese instruments.

On the evening of the 27th, the first concert was held at the university's music hall, where Ms. Kiyoka Takada of the Faculty of Fine Arts, who was at the center of the activity, introduced a video about how they worked to reproduce the school song, followed by a performance. When he was done, the people who visited him gave him a big round of applause.

A student from another university who attended the concert said, ``It was a wonderful concert.I once again felt the connection between our schools through the school song.''

Although the school song that was reproduced this time will not be established as the university's official school song, the funds raised through crowdfunding will be used to create a book to communicate the activities.

Mr. Takada said, ``Instead of ending the school song with our generation, we believe in the power of songs and want to pass on the school song that we reproduced to future generations.''
