Spring returns to the earth, and migratory birds begin their migration journey.

Recently, the Zhenbaodao Wetland National Nature Reserve in Hulin City, Heilongjiang Province has entered the 2024 return period for migratory birds ahead of schedule. At present, the "vanguard" of a variety of rare birds have arrived in the wetland, and 9 red-crowned cranes, 2 white-naped cranes, and more than 20 Oriental white storks, a national first-level protected bird, have been monitored. Since the Oriental white stork likes to nest in treetops, there are few trees suitable for nesting in the wetland and the branches are not stable, making it difficult for the white stork to successfully build a nest. In order to facilitate the better breeding and development of the Oriental white stork, a national first-level protected bird, the staff started the "artificial nesting" mode and quickly repaired and built a number of "new houses" for the birds. Currently, 100 artificial nests have been built in the wetland.

Recently, Xiaoyi Xiaohe National Wetland Park in Luliang City, Shanxi Province welcomed more than 400 white swans that migrated north. Sometimes they play and chase, sometimes they forage for food and rest, forming a poetic ecological picture with the blue waves and blue sky. As the ecology continues to improve, the number of migratory bird species in Xiaoyi Xiaohe National Wetland Park has increased from dozens to more than 300 species in the past, and more and more migratory birds have inhabited the area for a long time.

Recently, Gansu Yanchi Bay Internationally Important Wetland, located in Subei Mongolian Autonomous County, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province, welcomed more than 600 bar-headed geese, red shelducks, mallards, whooper swans, black-necked cranes and other northern migratory birds. ". These are the first batch of migratory birds to arrive at the Yanchi Bay Wetland to breed this year. It is expected that the Yanchi Bay Internationally Important Wetland will usher in the peak return migration of migratory birds in mid-April.
