At least one person was killed in an accident with a coach on the A9 near Leipzig. According to police reports, there were also several injuries.
The coach had an accident in the morning between the Wiedemar junction and the Schkeuditzer Kreuz. For unknown reasons, the vehicle left the road and fell onto its side.
Highway closed
Several rescue helicopters and numerous ambulances are in use. The highway is closed in both directions. Motorists were asked to keep an emergency lane clear.
The Schkeuditzer Kreuz is located at Leipzig/Halle Airport. The A9 is an important north-south highway connecting Berlin and Munich.
