A new round of cold air has started, gradually moving eastward and southward from the northwest region, and will mainly affect the northern region in the future. The most obvious impact will be to bring strong winds, sand and dust to the north, and rain and snow to the Northeast and other places. At the same time, as the warm and humid air flow strengthens, the south will usher in another round of large-scale precipitation.

The third sand and dust weather event this year has affected 13 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities

The arrival of cold air this time will have the most obvious impact on the north, which will be strong winds and dust.

During the influence of cold air, the Mongolian cyclone will develop, and at the same time, a large pressure difference will form between the cold and high pressure. This will bring winds of magnitude 4 to 6 to northern North China, central and eastern Inner Mongolia, and northeastern regions, with gusts up to magnitude 8 to 10.

The red circle in the picture above is the Mongolian cyclone

At the same time, in the past month, the temperature in the sand source area has been relatively high and the snow has melted, providing material conditions for the sand and dust process. Under the influence of strong winds and the dynamic lift in front of the high-altitude trough and near the Mongolian cyclone, sand and dust will be blown into the air. As the low-altitude northerly air flows downstream, my country will experience the third sand and dust weather process this year.

This process has a wide range of impacts, affecting 13 provinces including Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei. The impact may last for three days. Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow will be the strongest period of sand and dust impact.

In the core cooling area in the north, the local drop exceeds 8℃

In addition to strong winds and sand dust, this cold air will also bring cooling, which will mainly appear in the north. Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, the temperature in northern North China, central and eastern Inner Mongolia and northeastern regions is expected to drop by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius, with local temperatures dropping by 8 to 10 degrees Celsius.

Central and eastern Inner Mongolia, northern Hebei, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning and other areas will be areas with more obvious cooling. In places like Harbin (13℃), Changchun (16℃), and Shenyang (16℃), the maximum temperature may hit a new high this year tomorrow. After the cold air arrives the day after tomorrow, the maximum temperature will drop to 9℃, 7℃, and 10℃ respectively.

The cooling brought by this cold air to other areas is less obvious, and most areas will rise amid fluctuations.

Rain and snow have returned to the Northeast, Inner Mongolia, and a new round of widespread rainfall has hit the South.

The arrival of cold air will bring a round of widespread rain and snow to the Northeast and other places. Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, there will be light to moderate snow or sleet in eastern Inner Mongolia, northern Heilongjiang and other places. There will be heavy snow in some areas, localized blizzards, and the strongest snowfall. The time period is concentrated from tomorrow night to the day after tomorrow.

At the same time, the southwest warm and humid air flow will strengthen again, and the south will usher in a new round of large-scale precipitation. Today's precipitation has developed from the west first, and will expand eastward at night. Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, there will be moderate to heavy rain, local heavy rain or heavy rain in some areas in Jiangnan, eastern Guizhou and other places.

The rainfall in the south will decrease temporarily on the 29th, but will increase again from the 30th, so the rainy weather in the south will remain for a long time. Everyone should pay attention to the nowcast, carry rain gear when going out, and pay attention to traffic safety.
