A good four weeks after allegations were made against Taylor Swift's father about an attack on a photographer in Sydney, Australian police have closed the investigation. The police have completed the investigation initiated "after the report of an assault" and will take "no further police action," she said. She did not provide any information about the results of the investigation.

At the end of February, allegations emerged that Scott Swift hit a photographer in Sydney. The photographer Ben McDonald told the AFP news agency at the time that he photographed Taylor Swift from the mainland on a luxury yacht off Sydney after the last of her four concerts in Australia.

When the singer arrived at Neutral Bay Wharf and walked to a waiting vehicle, security guards tried to prevent him from taking photos of her with an umbrella.

After the singer's departure he was attacked by a man. "He hit me in the face," McDonald said. »It was a shock. Nothing like this has ever happened to me in 26 years.”

“I didn’t know who he was,” the photographer continued. At first he thought it might be an overzealous security guard. "But I looked at photos and saw him holding Taylor's hand and it was her father."

At the time, the Australian police only reported that a 71-year-old had allegedly attacked a 51-year-old at a jetty. The police did not give any names. However, police circles confirmed that the allegations were directed against Scott Swift.

Taylor Swift, who also stopped off in Australia on her “Eras” world tour, is one of the biggest pop stars in the world. Scott Swift used to work as a financial advisor, but now he attends many of his daughter's performances. “Papa Swift” is loved by fans. He is known, among other things, for handing out sandwiches and fruit or VIP passes at concerts.
