This event is jointly organized by the International Theater Institute (ITI) and the Chinese Theater Association (CTA), and hosted by the Langfang Silk Road International Art Exchange Center.

  It is reported that the speaker of World Theater Day 2024 will be Norwegian dramatist and novelist, and winner of last year’s Nobel Prize for Literature, Jorn Fosse.

  World Theater Day is one of the core activities of the International Theater Association. Since 1962, grand celebrations have been held around the world on March 27 every year. This celebration will carry out a wealth of activities, including event meetings, celebration performances, seminars, and workshops. This year, the World Theater Day celebrations returned to China after seven years and landed at Menglangfang International Theater Park.

  "World Theater Day 2024 - Dialogue between Chinese and Foreign Theater Practitioners" is one of the important activities of the 2024 World Theater Day celebrations. According to reports, the event will be held at the Silk Road International Art Exchange Center and will include two major sections: "keynote speech" and "roundtable dialogue." Pu Cunxin, Chairman of the Chinese Theater Association and drama performing artist, World Theater Ambassador of the International Theater Association, 2016 International Dance Day Messager of the International Theater Association, Lemi PONIFASIO, founder of the MAU Art Troupe, 2011 World Theater Day Messager, Director, and Actor of the International Theater Association , drama educator Jessica A.KAAHWA, writer and playwright Chen Yan, vice chairman of the Chinese Writers Association and vice chairman of the Chinese Drama Association, will give keynote speeches.

  Three forums were set up in the roundtable dialogue session, and the topics were: drama is a bridge to connect people's hearts, drama is a medium for multicultural integration, and drama is a stage for youthful vitality to burst out. During the event, Chinese and foreign guests communicated and collided on the above topics.

  During the 2024 World Theater Day celebrations, Chinese and foreign theater troupes and art troupes will bring a variety of performances.

  The Chilean Lavelia Theater Company will perform "Town Cleaner", "The Ballad of Abdul" from the Liangshan Cultural Tourism Group Colorful Clouds Performing Arts, and "Send You a Little Plum Blossom" brought by the Little Plum Blossom Art Troupe of the Chinese Drama Association. Special excerpts from classic traditional Chinese opera plays, including: Peking Opera "I Am a Peking Opera Little Plum Blossom", "Pure Heart", Pu Opera "Lin Chong Runs at Night", Chu Opera "Wrapping Cake Parade" and many other classic and traditional Chinese opera plays. .

  Wild Ass Theater Company's "Memory of Flowers" tells the story of a man who is about to reach the end of his life. French actor Julien COTTEREAU will present the play "Out of Nothing", which will be performed by the Grotowski Institute in Poland and WACHOWICZ/FRET Studio in Poland. The play "Quailos", the Cuban modern dance company MiCompañía will present the play "Simplicity", and the Zhejiang Wu Opera Art Research Institute will perform the play "Broken Bridge".

  In this World Theater Day celebration, French cross-border theater artist Matthieu RAUCHVARGER will reveal the beauty of the integration of theater and cross-border art, Cuban choreographer Susana POUS will lead participants to experience the unique charm of Cuban choreography, and Polish director Jarostaw FRET and Monika WACHOWICZ will delve into the essence of Polish directorial skills.
