Enrique Ventura,
known for the comic series '
Gruñidos in the desert
', died this Monday
at the age of 78
, as confirmed by the Evolution-Cómics publishing house, from the Panini label, on the social network X.
Ventura was part of the cartoonist duo '
Ventura & Nieto
', along with his cousin
Miguel Ángel Nieto
. Both worked for the satirical magazine
'El Papus
' and later in '
El Jueves
', in which they published their series '
Gruñidos en el desert
' (1979), starring
Groucho Marx
. In 1995, Miguel Ángel Nieto died suddenly and Enrique Ventura was in charge of the scripts for the series until 2013.
In addition, Ventura was the creator of drawings such as '
Es que van como locos
', '
Maremagnum
' or '
Histerias indecentes de la tele
', created for '
El Jueves
'.
Among the awards he has won, the Grand Prize at the Barcelona Comic Fair (1997) and Caganer of the Year (2002) stand out.
