In contrast to this attack on the Palestinian child because of a drawing on his shirt, all segments of Israeli society continue to arm themselves, as it would not be surprising or reprehensible to see a real weapon with a girl or young man on their way to the café, hairdresser, or market.

Reports indicate that the demand for Israelis to acquire weapons increased after the seventh of last October due to the state of terror that prevailed in Israeli society, as the number of applications for weapons licenses reached more than 250 thousand, in addition to the Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir himself distributing 7 thousand weapons against the settlers.

A video clip from the Bahar Jaber grocery store in the occupied city of Hebron was widely circulated, which showed the occupation soldiers entering and abusing a child because he was wearing a shirt with a gun on it. One of them slapped him after stripping him of the shirt, while another soldier tore it off and threw it in the child’s face.

Sarcasm and denunciation

The Networks episode (3/25/2024) reviewed activists’ tweets about the clip, some of which mocked the soldiers’ panic, while others saw it as “an army without morals, practicing terrorism against children, women, the elderly, and the sick.”

Pointing out that resistance and struggle are the natural reaction to the tyranny and tyranny of the occupation, the account owner, Amal, explained that “the occupation soldiers assault a child and take off his shirt claiming that there is a drawing of a weapon on it,” and she continued, “And a fool comes to ask what pushed the Palestinians to the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood.”

As for the activist Youssef, he saw in the clip something that reflects the reality of the occupation army from his point of view and wrote, “This fragile army is terrified by everything, even the drawing of a gun on a child’s clothes!”

The tweeter, Mervat, agreed with Youssef that “the most powerful army in the world - according to what they say - is terrified by the drawing of a weapon on the canvas,” and she continued, stressing, “By God, this entity is weaker than a spider’s web.”

For his part, Tamer stressed that “Israeli terrorism continues in all the cities of occupied Palestine against children, women, the elderly and the sick,” and went on to mock the occupation army as “the most moral army in the world!”

According to Al Jazeera's correspondent, the occupation soldiers raided the grocery store in Hebron after the video spread, arrested the store owner, confiscated surveillance cameras, and seized the original copy of the video.
