The Islamic preacher, Dr. Nabil Al-Awadi, recommended that specialists in the field of Islamic education follow the methodology of Luqman Al-Hakim in his will to his son, which began with the greatest duty, which is monotheism, and ended with good morals, during their work and preparation of their training courses.

Al-Awadi continued in the episode (3/24/2024) - his second of the “Sharia and Life in Ramadan” program - discussing the commandments of Luqman, to whom God Almighty gave wisdom to his son while he was admonishing him, and among them are the commandments to watch God, pray, and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. And good morals.

Dr. Al-Awadhi stressed that these commandments are not only a curriculum for teaching and awareness, but that parents and educators must be careful to apply them themselves and then reinforce them in their children so that they can live their lives by them, and the individual among them becomes a “complete slave.”

Resuming what he started in the previous episode of discussing Luqman’s commandments to his son, Al-Awadi explained that the third commandment relates to observing God Almighty, and through it Luqman was keen to instill in his son the knowledge that God does not hide anything from him on earth or in heaven, and he is aware of what is open and secret. And what is hidden.

In this context, Al-Awadhi stressed the need to advise the son to monitor the tweets and writings he publishes, which may have spread like wildfire, as they will be brought to account when judged before God.

The importance of prayer

In his talk about the fourth commandment, the Islamic preacher highlighted the importance of prayer in a Muslim’s life and how it is the pillar of religion, pointing out that it came after his talk about monotheism, commandment to parents, and observing God, which indicates that it is the best act of worship.

He pointed out that prayer exists in all religions and sects, albeit in different qualities, stressing that the commandment is not limited to performance only, but rather establishing prayer in the individual’s life so that it makes an impact in that life.

As for the fifth commandment, it is enjoining good and forbidding evil. During his talk about it, Dr. Al-Awadhi expressed his astonishment at some parents reversing that commandment by warning their children about what they consider to be interference in the affairs of others, which puts a barrier between them and the requirements of this commandment.

In this context, Al-Awadhi emphasized that human nature drives him to be averse to error and evil and to celebrate goodness and righteousness, which opens the way for enjoining good and forbidding evil, stressing at the same time the necessity of boycotting the perpetrators of evil if they insist on doing it, and not just warning them about it.

Patience and determination

The commandment to be patient came after that, due to the well-known need of the one who enjoins what is good and who forbids what is evil for this matter, as Al-Awadhi points out that the lessons of history tell us that no one took the lead in this matter except that he was exposed to harm and affliction, and at the forefront of them were the prophets and reformers, and then only those who were given resolve could do it. in the matter.

The following commandment carries a strong warning against the nature of arrogance, as Dr. Al-Awadhi believes that mentioning it after talking about monotheism, prayer, enjoining good and forbidding evil, indicates its importance, and it is reprehensible to despise people and reject the truth, for no one who has in his heart an atom’s weight of arrogance will enter Paradise, as he told us. the PROPHITE Mohamed peace be upon him.

Luqman’s urging his son to be intentional about walking is an indication of the importance of moderation in everything, and according to Dr. Al-Awadhi’s opinion, he mentioned walking because it is a habit that is carried out every day, and the intention is moderation that reflects the creation of humility.
