An event was held in Kyotanabe City, Kyoto Prefecture, where people sat on office chairs with casters and competed to see how far and how fast they ran.

This event has been held by shop owners in Kyotanabe City's shopping district for 14 years in an effort to revitalize the region and attract tourists, and on the 23rd, approximately 40 teams from all over the country participated.

It is a competition in which participants sit on an office chair with casters and kick the ground with their feet to compete for distance and speed.

Up until now, it has been held in shopping districts, but this time, as a new initiative, a dedicated course has been set up around the Tanabe Central Gymnasium.

A speed competition was held in which participants raced across a 30-meter straight course, and the participants sprinted backwards while holding on to the backs of chairs, intently aiming for the goal.

There was also the ``Isu 1GP,'' in which teams of three people took turns running for two hours, competing for the distance.

A woman in her 40s from Mie Prefecture said, ``I'm thrilled to be able to come to Kyotanabe City, where this competition began.'' I will do my best to achieve a good result.''
