Alexandra Lamy is the guest of Europe 1 this Saturday morning on the occasion of the cinema release of the ecological thriller "The Green Promise", which tackles the disaster caused by the production of palm oil. At Julia Vignali's microphone, the actress spoke about her relationship with ecology and revealed one of her little eco-friendly gestures which makes her "super proud".

Alexandra Lamy makes her comeback to the cinema with

 La Promesse verte

, a gripping ecological thriller directed by Edouard Bergeon. The actress plays the role of Carole, a teacher whose life is turned upside down the day her son, an environmental activist, is unjustly arrested in Indonesia and sentenced to death.

“My generation didn’t really talk about ecology”

Carole will do everything to save her child by fighting against the palm oil operators and the powerful industrial lobbies who have decided to have her skin. “I wanted to defend this role, and to play this character who leads a David and Goliath battle. She would be ready to do anything for her son,” confides Alexandra Lamy this Saturday morning at the microphone of Europe 1. Before playing in

The Green Promise

, the actress was not particularly aware of the environmental cause. “But, at the same time, I come from a rural environment. I have never eaten industrial products,” she adds. “I always say to myself: ‘What am I going to make for myself to eat’ and not ‘What am I going to buy myself to eat?’. My generation didn’t really talk about ecology” , she explains to Julia Vignali.

“I’m super proud to have compost!”

After reading the film's script, Alexandra Lamy had a realization. "I inquired and saw that palm oil was not only found in our spread, but in 3/4 of our shopping cart! I said to myself: 'What do I can I do it too at my own little level?'. If only to be proud of ourselves! Today, everything is done to make our lives easier. We no longer accept constraints whereas sometimes, constraints allow us also to create and rack your brains, to cook", underlines the actress who has adopted a more eco-friendly lifestyle. “I’m super proud to have a compost, to be able to throw away all the stuff, to sort it, to try to no longer buy plastic,” she confides. Alexandra Lamy is also “very careful to buy everything that is French and local”. Every week, the actress buys her vegetables at the market in the South of France. It was there, close to nature and far from the hustle and bustle of Paris, that the actress found her balance.
