A neo-Nazi who violently escaped from custody in the US state of Idaho is back in custody. After a visit to the hospital, the man escaped with the help of an accomplice. According to authorities, the two were recaptured after a 36-hour manhunt. During the search, two men were found dead further north in the state - according to police, these homicides may be connected to the men's escape.

As the police had previously announced, there was an exchange of gunfire during the escape on Wednesday (local time), in which three prison employees were injured. She warned the population about the armed and dangerous refugees. They had shown that they were prepared to use “extreme violence”.

"Coordinated Attack"

According to police accounts, prisoner Skylar Meade was being escorted from a hospital in the city of Boise after receiving treatment when shots were fired. The "coordinated attack" occurred directly in front of the emergency room, said the city's police chief, Ron Winegar. The accomplice targeted two prison employees who were seriously injured.

The armed attacker then fled in a car with 31-year-old Meade. The arriving police then opened fire, injuring another prison employee.

Meade is a member of a racist US neo-Nazi group. He was jailed in 2016 after attacking a police officer. The man with noticeable tattoos should not have his prison sentence end until 2036. Because he was considered dangerous, he served his sentence in solitary confinement.
