After a project report meeting and comprehensive evaluation, the judges finally voted to select the top ten new archaeological discoveries in the country in 2023.
Guan Qiang, Deputy Director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and Vice Chairman of the Chinese Archaeological Society, announced the Bashan Site Group in Yishui, Shandong, the Keqiutou Site Group in Pingtan, Fujian, the Mopanshan Site in Langxi, Anhui, the Qujialing Site in Jingmen, Hubei, and the King of Yongcheng Site in Henan Ten projects including the Zhuang Ruins, Shangdu Shuyuan Street Cemetery in Zhengzhou, Henan, Zhaigou Ruins in Qingjian, Shaanxi, Sijiaoping Ruins in Li County, Gansu, Chencun Porcelain Kiln Sites in Huozhou, Shanxi, and Shipwreck Sites No. 1 and 2 on the northwest slope of the South China Sea were selected for the 2023 National Top 10 new archaeological discoveries.
