Vaslentino fall-winter 2024/25 ready-to-wear show.
Haute Couture Show January 2024
Pierpaolo Piccioli ceases to be creative director of Valentino, a position
he took up in 2016,
although he had been with the company for 25 years and since 2008 he was a duo designer with Maria Grazia Chiuri, today creative director of Dior. Both he and the Italian house have announced it in a joint statement.
Their decision comes at a time when Piccioli had elevated the Italian house to the top of the fashion world, with memorable collections, such as the fall-winter 2022/23 collection, which placed
pink
as the color of the season, with most of the parade's departures in that color.

vision, commitment and creativity
that have brought the house to where it is today."

Piccioli's words
The creator, for his part, says: "Not all stories have a beginning or an end, some live a kind of eternal present that shines so much that it does not cast shadows. I have been in this company for 25 years and I have existed for 25 years and have lived with the people who have woven the threads of this
beautiful story
that is mine and ours. Everything existed and exists thanks to the people I met, with whom I worked, with whom I shared dreams and created beauty, with whom I built something that is of everyone, and that remains immutable and tangible. I take this
inheritance of love, dreams, beauty and humanity
with me, today and always. This is the beauty we have created: life, hope, opportunity and gratitude. I couldn't imagine it alone. Thanks to Mr. Valentino and Giancarlo Giammetti, who have blessed me with their trust, thanks to every person who made this possible in one way or another, it was a privilege and an honor to share my journey and my dreams with you."
Other Piccioli milestones
In 2018, Piccioli was in charge of making the wardrobe of
Marta Ortega,
Amancio Ortega's daughter, for her wedding to Carlos Torretta. A total of four looks, two dresses, a tuxedo and the one for the ceremony, consisting of a long skirt and a pleated shirt.
That same year, Piccioli also collected the Designer of the Year award at the
British Fashion Awards.
