According to the Inner Mongolia Forestry and Grassland Bureau, Inner Mongolia will allocate 22 million yuan in funds in 2024, focusing on the Horqin and Hunshandake Sand Land Annihilation War, the Yellow River Jiziwan Battle, and the Hexi Corridor-Taklimakan Desert Edge Blocking War Area as the focus of the construction to cultivate lemongrass. There are 40 security nurseries focusing on sandy shrub seedlings such as Salix, Salix, Seabuckthorn and Haloxylon ammodendron to solve the structural shortage of sandy shrub seedlings, balance the supply and demand relationship, and promote the stability of market seedling prices.
Recently, the Inner Mongolia Forestry and Grassland Bureau signed a letter of responsibility with 11 local forestry and grassland bureaus and 40 autonomous region support nurseries. In 2024, Inner Mongolia will have a seedling breeding area of 13,500 acres and 320 million seedlings. The Forestry and Grassland Bureaus of eight league cities including Xing'an League, Tongliao City, Chifeng City, Xilingol League, Ulanqab City, Ordos City, Bayannur City, and Alxa League have participated in the implementation of desertification prevention and control and wind power and photovoltaic integration projects. The enterprise representatives of Inner Mongolia Forest and Grass Ecological Construction Co., Ltd. and Mengcao Ecological Environment (Group) Co., Ltd. signed a framework agreement on the supply and demand of seedlings.
Ma Qiang, deputy director of the Inner Mongolia Forestry and Grassland Bureau, said that according to the construction needs of the Three-North Project, desertification prevention and control, and wind power and photovoltaic integration projects within the jurisdiction, the scale and direction of seedlings must be adjusted in a timely manner, and high-quality seedlings should be provided to the market in a timely manner.
