By chance, the federal police became aware of an armed man in Erfurt main station.

The 23-year-old was noticed on a train without a ticket, as the federal police in Erfurt announced.

During the subsequent personal check, a federal police officer noticed the handle of a weapon on the man's backpack, which was sticking out of an outside pocket.

It was a revolver loaded with six hard rubber bullets.

The weapon was seized and unloaded.

As the police further reported, there was no required inspection mark on the revolver.

The man was then allowed to leave the office without his weapon.

He is being investigated for fraudulently obtaining benefits and for violating the weapons law.
