In the early hours of the 21st, a fire destroyed two houses in Sakai City, Osaka, killing two people.

Two of them, who appear to be residents of one of the buildings, have not been able to be contacted, so police are working to confirm their identities and investigating the details of the situation.

Around 2:30 a.m. on the 21st, the fire department received a report that a house was on fire in Ohama Kitamachi, Sakai Ward, Sakai City, Osaka.



25 fire trucks and other vehicles were dispatched to extinguish the fire, and the fire was extinguished after about three hours. However, according to the fire department, the three-story steel frame house and two adjacent houses were completely destroyed, and two surrounding houses were destroyed. Part of the building was burnt.



According to police, a woman was rescued from the third floor of the burnt-out three-story house, but she was confirmed dead at the hospital, and another person's body was found in the burnt ruins.



The two people, who are believed to be residents of the three-story house, have not been able to contact each other since the fire, so police are working to confirm the identity of the deceased and investigating the details of the situation.



The site is an area lined with houses approximately 500 meters southwest of Nankai Electric Railway's Sakai Station.
