For several days, forest firefighters fought hard at the fire scene, and reporters from China News Network visited.

At about 14:00 on the 18th, as soon as we reached the foot of the fire site No. 1, the reporter heard the roar of a water pump. This was the forest firefighters pumping water from the river up the mountain.

Fire site No. 1 is located in the mountains behind Yajiang County, close to Yajiang County on one side, and at the foot of the mountain on the other side is National Highway 318, the main artery of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway.

As the reporter climbed up the steep mountain road, forest firefighters could be seen resting in the forest from time to time.

On the way up, you pass a wooden plank road that has been destroyed by fire in many places.

20 minutes later, the reporter came to a working site, where forest firefighters were humidifying the burned gray-black woodland to prevent re-ignition.

"In the past few days, the wind has picked up in the afternoon, and the temperature has been relatively high, which will cause the fire to rekindle." Liu Wei, the squadron leader of the Kangding Squadron of the Garze Prefecture Forest Fire Fighting Detachment, said that they mainly cleaned up the smoke spots that day, "The county seat Close to this mountain, the fire poses a serious threat to the lives and property of residents."

The roaring sound of the water pump mixed with the sound of the wind, and from time to time, small stones rolled down from high places.

Liu Wei reminded reporters to pay attention to safety and said loudly: "The No. 1 fire site has a high and steep slope. The team members have to carry equipment and machinery up. It takes 2 hours to walk to the fire line. It is very physically demanding. Fortunately, the government provides us with Hot food was provided.”

In addition, pay more attention to safety hazards.

Liu Wei said that after the woods at high places burn, the stones in the forest will loosen and roll down, so people need to stay alert at all times.

After noon, the temperature rises sharply, the wind increases, and the fire situation often suddenly increases, or deflagration occurs, which poses a threat to safety.

Therefore, they usually set off from their base at two o'clock in the morning and rush to the fire line. They fight until they go down the mountain to rest around four o'clock in the afternoon.

Later, the reporter drove to the No. 3 fire scene on the northwest side of Yajiang County. Thick smoke could be seen from the mountains in the distance a few kilometers away. The fire line was long and open flames were faintly visible.

Walking along the road at the foot of the mountain, at intervals, forest firefighters humidify the woods at the foot of the mountain to curb the spread of wildfires.

Not far from their feet, rolling stones could be seen everywhere.

At the foot of the mountain, Liu Fei, captain of the Xichang Brigade of the Liangshan Prefecture Forest Fire Fighting Detachment, was directing his team members to work. His face was blackened by smoke, and calls came from the walkie-talkie on his chest from time to time.

Liu Fei introduced that 200 members of the Liangshan Prefecture Forest Fire Fighting Detachment came from Xichang to Yajiang for reinforcements. They arrived on the evening of the 17th and had no time to rest. They went up the mountain at 2 a.m. on the 18th and went down the mountain at 2 p.m., fighting on the mountain for 12 hours.

"The No. 3 fire site has steep hills, deep ditches, dense forests, and changeable wind directions. We have brought more than 1,200 pieces of fire-fighting equipment." Liu Fei, who is experienced in fire-fighting, told reporters that forest fires are often complicated. "The fire line looks the same from the bottom of the mountain. After you go up the mountain and face the fire line, it may be a different situation. You have to scientifically determine whether it is a surface fire or an underground fire, what its intensity is, and what the vegetation is like, and then scientifically choose a fighting method."
