A 62-year-old suspect from Tottori City was arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department for allegedly making a phone call to the family of a family member who lost his wife and daughter in an out-of-control accident in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, and saying things like ``I'm going to kill them.''

The suspect arrested was Ikuhisa Yoshimura (62), an unemployed man from Tottori City.



Mana Matsunaga (31) and her eldest daughter Riko (3) were hit and killed when a car driven by an 87-year-old driver ran out of control in Ikebukuro, Tokyo in 2019. Mana's husband Nine family members, including Takuya Matsunaga, filed a lawsuit, and the Tokyo District Court handed down a judgment ordering the driver and his insurance company to pay more than 146 million yen in compensation.



The day after the verdict, Yoshimura named Matsunaga and told the Metropolitan Police Department, ``I think there was a trial over the Ikebukuro car accident, but I'm going to kill the victim.I'm a member of a gang, but I'm going to kill him soon.'' He was arrested on the 19th on suspicion of making threats.



According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the suspect admitted to the charges, saying, "There is no doubt about it."



Matsunaga said, ``I will refrain from commenting on the individual perpetrators, but I have been feeling a sense of fear for a long time, so I am relieved for now.I would like to see a society where malicious acts and slander do not occur.'' "I will," he commented.
