In Wandlitz, Brandenburg, two suspects barricaded the stairwell of a refugee accommodation with two fence panels.
One perpetrator is also said to have given the Hitler salute.
The still unknown persons are said to have appeared on the premises of the accommodation early on Saturday morning and broke into one of the buildings, as the police in Frankfurt an der Oder announced on Monday.
They are said to have stolen the two fence panels from a nearby construction site.
As the police said, a surveillance camera recorded the event.
The police state security now has images of the crime.
