China News Service, Beijing, March 17 (Reporter Ying Ni) The Beijing Symphony Orchestra's "Dream of Red Mansions·Dunhuang Dream" theme concert was recently performed at the National Center for the Performing Arts.

The famous conductor Zhang Yi, violinist Huang Bin, and specially invited concertmaster Yang Ying joined hands with the orchestra to bring the audience a concert of Chinese symphony works with a strong national style.

Among them, the violin concerto "A Dream of Red Mansions" was performed in Beijing for the first time.

A cheerful and unrestrained "Saibei Dance" kicked off the concert.

Next, the violin concerto "Dream of Red Mansions" was played for the first time in front of the audience in the capital. This work was adapted by Huang Anlun, commissioned by composer Wang Liping, based on the soundtrack of the 1987 TV series "Dream of Red Mansions". It premiered in Shanghai last year.

Violinist Huang Bin gently played the melody of "Wu Ning Mei". The familiar melody runs through the violin concerto "A Dream of Red Mansions", interspersed with the soundtracks of TV series such as "The Burial of Flowers", "Smart and Tired", and "Part of the Bone".

Every time the theme of "Wan Ning Mei" appears, the mood and intensity are different. It symbolizes Bao Dai's tragic love and the rise and fall of the Jia family, and is full of Chinese classical temperament.

"The Violin Concerto "Dream of Red Mansions" combines songs from familiar TV series, but it has a very complete structure, and the structure is compact and tense." Violinist Huang Bin said that this is a work that requires both technique and emotion. Gao's work seems to condense the entire story of "A Dream of Red Mansions" into more than 30 minutes of music, all in one go.

The concert suite of the ballet "Dunhuang Dream" in the second half is Huang Anlun's classic work. Although it was composed for the ballet, it is often played in concerts.

"When we look at the Dunhuang murals, we will find that the murals absorb a lot of elements from the Western Regions, and so does "Dunhuang Dream."" Conductor Zhang Yi said that the musical elements in "Dunhuang Dream" are also very rich, and it is not what is generally believed. Chinese traditional music is a magical intertwining of local Chinese music and exotic customs.

Composer Huang Anlun listened to this concert by the Beijing Symphony Orchestra live.

He said that he was very happy to hear Zhang Yi and the Beijing Symphony Orchestra's outstanding performance live, and looked forward to more cooperation in the future.
