Trump was quoted as saying in statements, "Zelensky is one of the greatest salesmen in history. Every time he comes to the country (the United States) he leaves with 50 or 60 billion dollars. I have never been able to do that. He is a much better salesman than me."

He asked to provide money to the Ukrainians in the form of loans, saying, “We must lend them money, not send it to them. We must lend them so that if they succeed despite the enormous challenges they face, they will pay it to us. Provide them with money in the form of a loan so that they commit to paying the debts, no To hand them a check for $60 billion.”

Regarding the NATO Joint Defense Agreement, Trump said in his statements, “Some countries do not pay their obligations, and I simply will not protect those who do not pay. I will allow (Russian President) Vladimir Putin to do whatever he wants with them.”

Current US President Joe Biden described Trump's statements as "stupid, shameful, and dangerous," and that "when Trump looks to NATO, he does not see the alliance that protects the United States and the world, but rather he sees a blackmail system."

The episode (3/18/2024) of the “Shabakat” program monitored some tweets regarding Trump’s statements on social media.

Abdullah tweeted, "Trump is a president with the mentality of a bazaar merchant... and this is what the Americans see as necessary at this stage because they want to care about internal affairs only and not Ukraine."

Raneem wrote, "How can you be sure that Trump will stay away from wars? Because they will drain the American treasury, and therefore he does not want them, (and) he does not love peace."

From Ismail’s point of view, Trump “is not interested in alliances, status, strategic visions, strawberries, or watermelon. Trump is interested in power and money, a lot of money.”
