The date of March 24, the date for the 2024 presidential election in Senegal, is a date finally set after weeks of a major political crisis. The poll was initially scheduled for February 25, before a twist: the postponement of the election, announced on February 3 by outgoing President Macky Sall, just a few hours before the start of the campaign. The start of a series of twists and turns, and a standoff between the government, the Constitutional Council, the political actors and civil society.
