Good news for apprentice comedians or stand-uppers, a Higher School of Laughter Arts will soon open, under the artistic direction of comedian Jérémy Ferrari.

Training to learn the history of humor or the writing of sketches, but also to bring more recognition to a profession that is too little considered.

Comedy festivals and stand-up shows have never been more popular.

The comedy clubs are always full and the comedians' tours are getting longer.

Enough to create vocations.

Good news, if you dream of yourself as Blanche Gardin, Jérémy Ferrari, Vérino, Jamel Debbouze or Gad Elmaleh, the Higher School of Laughter Arts should interest you.

It is about to open between Paris and Avignon.

Classes in improvisation, history of humor, body expression and of course, sketch writing.

The French zygomatics have good years ahead of them.

The first Higher School of Laughter Arts will welcome its class of 26 students to the Théâtre de la Scala in Avignon next September.

The comedian Jérémy Ferrari is the artistic director: "I don't want it to become a stand-up factory either. The idea is to take people who have a humorous sensibility, who want to do this job and who are looking for a school to train them. When you leave this school, you are not only a comedian, you are also a real actor and above all you are an artist."

“There is a lack of recognition of this profession”

A school also to revalorize a profession too often associated with the image of the clown.

“There is a lack of recognition of this profession,” continues Jérémy Ferrari.

"We tend to consider that comedians are not necessarily comedians, not for the cinema. This school can also help to improve the image a little among the profession, but not among the public. The public has always loved these comedians , always wore them."

First year in Avignon, second in Paris, speakers like the actor Vincent Dedienne... To follow this unique course, you will have to pay the price: more than 9,000 euros per year.

Applications are open.
