The Hainan Island-Ring Tourist Highway not only offers beautiful coastal scenery, but since it was opened to traffic in December 2023, it has also become a new way for many Chinese and foreign tourists to unlock the unique cultural experience of the island.

  In Haikou, Wenchang, Sanya and other places, arcade buildings that combine Chinese and Western styles carry more than a hundred years of history, attracting people to explore the past of Sino-foreign exchanges.

  In Wenchang, Qionghai and other places, the overseas Chinese houses such as Caijiazhai, Linjiazhai and Fujiazhai are the crystallization of the fusion of Nanyang architectural style and Hainanese characteristic folk houses, telling the story of Hainanese's journey to Nanyang for more than a hundred years.

  There are many lighthouses of different shapes scattered along the Hainan Island Tourist Highway, silently telling different sailing stories.

  At the China (Hainan) South China Sea Museum in Qionghai, exquisite cultural relics emerging from the South China Sea tell the story of the historical prosperity of the Maritime Silk Road.

  Along the route, Hainan's Li and Miao people have rich and colorful culture. They wear Li brocade, live in boat-shaped houses, dance with bamboo poles... the unique ethnic customs make people forget to leave.

  Along the Hainan Island Tourist Highway, you can also feel the style of Su Dongpo, a famous writer in Chinese history.

The famous Dongpo Academy in Danzhou, Hainan has a wonderful story about Su Dongpo: "I will not regret my nine deaths in the southern wilderness, but I will travel to the most wonderful places in my life."

  Hainan Island, surrounded by the sea, also has a unique food culture.

Hainanese believe that "no feast can be complete without chicken". Wenchang chicken, the first of Hainan's four famous dishes, has become the first choice for tourists.
