A chief inspector was known as “Officer Denny” on social media, but his employer didn’t like it.

It was said that the reputation of the police was damaged as a result.

The Berlin police authority banned the man from the controversial secondary activity on the Internet - and was also right in court.

The Berlin Administrative Court confirmed the police's decision on Monday.

According to the ruling, the commissioner is not allowed to act as “Officer Denny” on various social media.

From the court's point of view, the ban was legal because "official interests" were impaired by the commissioner's appearances.

The man's lawsuit against his employer was therefore unsuccessful.

He had previously failed in two instances in summary proceedings.

The police officer's anger was triggered by a live stream in which he was on first name terms with Arafat Abou-Chaker, who is considered the Berlin clan boss.
