Scene experts were immediately convinced: street artist Banksy must be behind the new work of art on a house facade in London.

A mural that looks like Banksy's artistic signature appeared on Sunday morning near Finsbury Park in the north of the British capital.

On Monday morning, the artist finally ended speculation about his possible authorship.

He acknowledged the action on his Instagram channel.

In the new picture, behind a cut-back, bare tree, green paint can be seen on a house wall, reminiscent of foliage.

Below to the left is a stencil of a person, also in shades of green, holding what looks like a pressure hose.

The message of the work is clear, said James Peak, who made a documentary series about Banksy for the British broadcaster BBC.

"Nature is fighting, and it's up to us to help it grow back." Banksy is always looking for something "that he can do with minimal effort to make something look really cool."

In addition, the shade of green on the wall matches that used for signs in the area.

This shows Banksy's eye for detail.

On Monday morning, many people made a pilgrimage to London's Hornsey Road to view the work of art.
