In the hands of Moore & Moore (who, by the way, have no family ties), the story of Countess Mary Villiers is
very unsolemn

That, in a period series, is appreciated.
Especially one that deals with Mary's plan to place her son George (Nicholas Galitzine) in the bed of King James I. Because 17th century England was
ancient but not stupid
.
Jaime (Tom Curran) is neither.
Nor Mary.
George a little yes, but that's what his mother is for.

I'm afraid that some of her most poignant expressions have been lost in the dubbing.
Another reason to learn English: watch English series and enjoy them 100%.

is bright at times and dark at others.
He frequently alternates these two visions of life: from Mary's dark birth and her opinions on the uselessness of having a second male child, we move on to the adventures of this one, now grown up, in a libertine France as only the France of a
