The North Korean leader visited the Republic of Russia last September at the invitation of Putin, riding his armored train and surrounded by strict security measures. He also brought with him his own car on the train, a Maybach limousine.

During that visit, the Russian car "Urus Senat" impressed the North Korean leader, so Putin decided to gift him one of it, and it arrived in North Korea last February.

Kim appeared with the Russian car - last Friday - at an open event, where it was in the middle of a solemn procession, during his direct supervision of military air exercises and his attendance at the opening ceremony of a farm.

An advanced friendship guide

In this context, the Korean leader's sister, the second official in the country's ruling party, Kim Yo Jong, said, "Kim's use of the car is clear evidence of the friendship between the DPRK and Russia, which is developing in a comprehensive manner, and the special function of the car is perfect and can be trusted."

"Urus" is the first Russian luxury car brand that manufactures cars for Russian President Vladimir Putin. It won the title of "Car of the Year" in Russia for the year 2021, and has been used in the convoys of senior officials since Putin used it for the first time during his inauguration ceremony in 2018.

The technical specifications of the car were not announced. It is a mobile amphibious palace armored against everything. It is also armed with the latest weapons and equipped with a secure communication system. Its price is estimated at about one million dollars.

The Networks program (3/17/2024) monitored some of the tweeters’ comments on this precious gift, including what Bou Shuaib wrote, “A wonderful car... Frankly, even I was surprised by Russia’s genius, but as for America, it is evidence that it faces a fierce competitor.”

Car bomb!

While Muhammad Khalifa worriedly asked, “What if these cars are booby-trapped and do not contain spy devices?” Ramez wrote, “This man acts as if he is a god and not the president of a people... How was he able to intimidate his people and his army in this way?! This means that he planted “Every 3 citizens and every 3 military personnel there is a spy working for his intelligence services.”

As for Mahdi Al-Fahdaway, he had another opinion in which he said, “If we think carefully about this person outside the borders of North Korea... he had no hand in destroying homelands and killing people... he did not burn Syria... he did not destroy Iraq... he did not starve Africa... he did not plunder.” Wealth of weak countries... He did not throw phosphorus bombs on the children of Palestine.”

This will not be the Korean leader's only luxury car, as he owns a fleet of foreign-made luxury cars, which are believed to have been smuggled into his country.

But observers say that this gift violates UN sanctions imposed on North Korea since 2017 banning the supply of luxury goods, which Russia has signed.
