In the movie "The Embalmer", cellist Daigo Kobayashi accidentally becomes the embalmer who accompanies people on their final journey. Along the way, he gradually changes from rejection to love for this profession, and his wife also changes from disgust to support.

In real life, there is a group of people who have similar stories to Kobayashi Dawu.

Recently, the Shenyang City Selection Competition for Cremator and Cemetery Administrator of the National Civil Affairs Industry Vocational Skills Competition was held in Shenyang.

In 2009, cremator Wang Jin got into the funeral industry by chance.

Over the past 15 years, from fear to professionalism, Wang Jin has performed cremation operations with superb skills and given the deceased the highest respect.

Wang Jin said that every time he hears the thanks from bereaved families, he feels a sense of accomplishment.

When it comes to the funeral industry, many Chinese people are very secretive. Especially in the eyes of their elders, work in the funeral industry is not an ideal and decent job.

"When I first entered this industry, some friends thought my job was scary. Later, I only said that I worked in a state-owned enterprise as an operator." At this point, Wang Jin felt a little helpless.

But the more this happened, the more he wanted to do this job well.

Today, Wang Jin’s down-to-earth work attitude has infected his family and friends, who have long been accustomed to Wang Jin’s work and expressed their support.

Coincidentally, Li Jianhua, a "post-70s generation", is a senior cremator like Wang Jin.

Recently, Li Jianhua won the first prize in the Shenyang City Selection of the National Civil Affairs Industry Vocational Skills Competition for cremator and cemetery administrator. His smooth and precise operation won unanimous praise from the judges.

Li Jianhua, who has been engaged in the funeral industry for nearly 20 years, has witnessed tremendous changes in the industry.

From the initial manual operation to the current mechanization and automation, "Cremation work is not as simple as pressing a few buttons as imagined. Cremation work is a technical job." Li Jianhua said that before starting work every day, he would inspect the cremator and other equipment. Carry out inspections to ensure that the cremation of remains can run smoothly.

"Nowadays, people are becoming more and more educated, and their concepts are constantly changing. Most young people are more curious about the funeral industry than they are taboo." When talking about people's misunderstandings and prejudices about the funeral industry, Li Jianhua said that despite changes, He still hopes that through his efforts, he can further change the social image of funeral practitioners and let more people understand and respect this profession.

Industry experts pointed out that with the development of society and the change of people's thinking, China's funeral industry has gradually eliminated prejudices. With the improvement of the professional standard system, more and more young people choose the funeral industry. They study hard, practice hard, grow rapidly, and become the professional " Endorsement" and "name rectification".

Li Zelin, the "post-95" cemetery administrator, is one of them.

Li Zelin, who had a professional background, decided to join the cemetery work after graduating from university.

He is well aware of the shortcomings of traditional ritual sweeping methods, so he has been committed to promoting green and environmentally friendly sacrificial sweeping methods.

"I will continue to promote the popularization of green sacrificial sweeps so that every life can be respected." Li Zelin said.

Gao Mingqi, 25, has been engaged in the funeral industry for five years.

He believes that people have higher and higher requirements for funeral services, and more and more emphasis is placed on personalization. Practitioners must constantly improve their own quality and professional standards.

Xiao Gu, a post-2000s student majoring in funerals, shares his daily life of study and work on the Internet.

For him, the meaning of joining the funeral industry is to bring comfort to the living and respect to the deceased, just as a line in the movie "The Embalmer" said: "Death may be a door, passing is not the end, but transcendence. Moving on to the next journey.” (End)
