Since October 7, the United States has rushed to support and support, and even participate in, Israel in its bloody war on the Gaza Strip, and did not hesitate for a moment to provide it with all the required means of support, politically and militarily.

Despite the long duration of the battle and Israel’s inability to achieve its declared goals, which are to eliminate the Hamas movement and dismantle its structure, recover prisoners from the grip of the resistance, and ensure that a process similar to the “Al-Aqsa Flood” will not be repeated from the Gaza Strip, and the increasing public anger around the world towards the crimes of the occupation. The American position sponsoring it, and the shift in the positions of many countries, some of them Western, did not waver in the United States’ position in support of this war, which took the form of genocide.

The United States of America used its veto power against the Algerian draft resolution in the Security Council on February 20, 2023. Thus, it had thrice obstructed attempts to issue a Security Council resolution to impose an “immediate humanitarian truce” in the Gaza Strip since October 7. October, and the start of the barbaric war on the Gaza Strip.

Washington also used its veto power on October 18, 2023, against a Brazilian draft resolution, and on December 8, 2023, against an Emirati draft resolution.

The United States is acting as if it has an additional opportunity to renew and activate its hegemony in the region, in a way that serves its international hegemony, and redraws its image as the “policeman of the world,” who is responsible for confronting international challenges wherever they may be, and does not hesitate to use force, practice oppression, and commit crimes to maintain this role. And this dominance

At the same time, the United States has provided Israel with all the military equipment and ammunition it needs to continue its genocidal war in the Gaza Strip. Since October 7, according to the Washington Post, the United States has secretly approved and delivered 100 arms deals. To Israel.

On December 25, 2023, in a Yateem announcement, Israel announced that 230 military aircraft and 20 American ships had transported to Israel more than 10,000 tons of ammunition, which includes smart missiles with high destructive capacity and fortification-penetrating capabilities of the BLU-109 type.

In addition to this, the deployment of two aircraft carriers in the eastern Mediterranean and the Red Sea, accompanied by a large number of military ships and other warships, directly participating in the war, whether by providing logistical and intelligence support to the Israeli occupation forces or by thwarting and attacking military targets in Yemen, Syria, and Iraq, as they support... Palestinian resistance, and poses a threat to the Israeli entity.

From day one, the United States adopted an absolutely biased position towards the Israeli entity, and fully adopted its point of view, which resulted in this absolute support. Perhaps the nature of the historical relationship between them does not require clarification, but what seems confusing to the observer is the American behavior during recent months.

At the same time, the United States, through its President, Secretary of State, White House and National Security spokespersons, and others, does not stop talking about the humanitarian aspect and the necessity of observing international law and international humanitarian law during war, and urging an increase in the pace and quantity of humanitarian relief, which it crowned with its controversial decision. There is no doubt that by launching a sea line towards the northern Gaza Strip to transport humanitarian aid to the Strip, at the same time it continues to provide military, economic and political support to Israel.

After the scale and horror of the humanitarian crimes committed by Israel against defenseless civilians in the Gaza Strip were revealed, which to date have claimed the lives of more than 30,000 martyrs, the majority of whom are women and children, 7,000 missing persons and more than 71,000 wounded, in addition to the massive destruction of civilian infrastructure and housing. Citizens, the United States has adopted a dual policy that follows two parallel lines: the first part is based on full support and participation in the Israeli military and war effort, and the second is based on taking into account international and American public opinion, which is angry and rejects these crimes, and focuses on talking about legal and humanitarian issues and attempts to reach a humanitarian truce. Reduce the severity and heinousness of the crimes committed by the occupation.

The difference between the course of talk in the media and the diplomatic and political evasion and the actual and practical participation in the war of extermination on the Gaza Strip is huge. This participation and this American rush to military action, despite the resulting crimes and severe damage to the image and popularity of the United States in the world, is what needs an explanation. This opens the door to discussion of American goals in this war.

The United States considered that what happened on October 7 constituted a blow to American policy in the region, and even to some of its arrangements at the international level.

Before October 7, the United States succeeded in paving the way for a state of political stability in the region through a set of arrangements that enable Israel to be a central player in the region and sit at the center of its future structure.

These arrangements, in which the United States made great efforts, contributed to calming areas of tension, as happened with Lebanon, where an agreement was signed demarcating maritime borders, calming the Yemen front and bringing a ceasefire there, reducing the intensity of the dispute and tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and launching the path of renewing and activating political relations. and economic development among a large number of countries in the region.

These arrangements and openness in relations, in addition to other factors related to overcoming the Arab Spring era, led to two very important things for the United States and Israel:

The first: is the path of normalization with Saudi Arabia and its rapid development.

The second: It is the commercial and economic road linking India and Europe, passing through a number of Arab countries and Israel

It is a strategic economic path through which the United States confronts several international economic parties.

The most important of which is China, through which it also works to enhance the role and status of its pampered ally, “Israel,” at the regional and global levels.

Based on the above, the United States considered the October 7 operation directed against it and not only against the Israeli entity.

With its direct participation in the war, and with its unlimited support for Israel, it is trying to invest in this crisis, which is of an international nature, and is working to accomplish a number of strategic issues at the regional and global levels.

It is making every possible effort to prevent disruption of its arrangements in the region, to get rid of all obstacles in front of it, and to send a message to many parties that it can go far in targeting everyone who works to obstruct these efforts and arrangements.

It is also working to reaffirm that it is the central, if not the only, international player regarding the Palestinian issue and the Israeli entity, and to continue to monopolize the Palestinian issue file internationally.

And redrawing the red lines regarding the entity, as the “spoiled son” of the United States, or the “51st” American state, as some consider it.

For this reason, she does not hesitate to do whatever is necessary, even if a lot of damage is caused to her image, and public rejection and anger towards her behavior and position grows.

This has resulted in many difficulties and tragedies for the Palestinian people, the last of which does not seem to be this criminal war on the Gaza Strip.

Finally, the United States is acting, as if it has an additional opportunity, to renew and activate its hegemony in the region, in a way that serves its international hegemony, and redraws its image as the “policeman of the world,” who is responsible for confronting international challenges wherever they may be, and does not hesitate to use force, practice oppression, and commit crimes to preserve... This role and this dominance.

In doing so, it sends a message to all international and regional powers aspiring to new international roles and positions, and attempts to draw the boundaries of the balance of power and international influence again, which makes the behavior and role of many international and regional powers in this crisis extremely important in shaping the future of the international system and the balance of power. And influence in it.
