Six items have been newly designated as national treasures, including a sutra copied by Fujiwara no Michinaga during the Heian period and placed in a sutra mound in Nara Prefecture, and a clay clay figure excavated from an ancient tomb in Mie Prefecture.

The Cultural Affairs Council of the Agency for Cultural Affairs held on the 15th and reported to Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Moriyama the designation of 6 national treasures and 36 important cultural properties.

Among these, the ``Kinji Sutra on Dark Blue Paper Excavated from Mt. Kinpusan Kyozuka'', which is designated as a national treasure, is a sutra that was copied by Fujiwara no Michinaga and his great-grandson Moromichi during the Heian period and stored in a sutra mound in Nara Prefecture.

It is unique in that it is written in gold letters on dark blue paper, and is in good condition, making it extremely valuable for cultural history research.

In addition, the ``Mie Prefecture Takarazuka Tomb No. 1 Haniwa'' is a set of eight clay figures imitating the shapes of ships and houses that were excavated from a tomb dating back to the 5th century in Matsusaka City, Mie Prefecture.

The ship-shaped clay is large, measuring 1 meter and 40 centimeters in length and 94 centimeters in height, and is considered to have high academic value as it elaborately depicts the appearance of a boat from the Kofun period, which is usually difficult to understand.

In addition, the ``Wooden Rokukannon Bodhisattva Statue'', which is believed to have been created by the Kamakura period Buddhist sculptor Jokyo et al., will also be designated as a national treasure.

With this designation, there are 912 national treasures of arts and crafts.
