Two men died after falling into a manure chute on a farm in Schleswig-Holstein.

According to the police, the bodies were recovered after a rescue operation on the farm in Bohmstedt late on Thursday evening.

For the men aged 27 and 55, any help came too late.

How exactly the accident occurred is still unclear.

According to the information, the dead were a farmer and his assistant.

Relatives quickly noticed the accident, but were unable to free the two men from the shaft, said a police spokesman.

The investigation into the circumstances of the death was ongoing.

Just at the beginning of March, a six-year-old fell into a manure pit on a family farm in the Nordfriesland district and died.

The boy's body was found in the pit on the agricultural property in Osterhever after around two hours of searching.
