According to Sky News, the actor is accused of careless use of a firearm and failure to exercise due care.
If found guilty, he faces up to 18 months in prison.
The artist's lawyers argue that these charges represent an abuse of the system and insult an innocent person "whose rights have been violated to the extreme."
Alec Baldwin was first officially charged with manslaughter in January 2023, but was dropped in April.
In January 2024, after the investigation was resumed, charges were brought again.
