Ai Fukuhara, a former top table tennis player, held a press conference and announced that she had settled the dispute over her eldest son with her estranged husband.

Fukuhara, who has competed in the Olympics four times, has been the main caregiver for his eldest son, the son he had with former Taiwanese table tennis player Jiang Hongjie, from whom he divorced three years ago. He was brought back to Japan from Taiwan a year ago, and he was not handed over even after the visitation period had passed.

Then, in July of the following year, the Tokyo Family Court ordered Ms. Fukuhara to be extradited, but even after that, Ms. Fukuhara did not comply, leading to a situation where her ex-girlfriend's husband filed criminal charges in Japan.

Regarding this issue, Ms. Fukuhara held a press conference in Tokyo on the 15th with representatives from both parties, and at the beginning she said, ``I am truly sorry for causing you worry and inconvenience.I have reconciled with my ex-husband.From now on, we will work together to raise our children.'' I want to move on," she said, revealing that she had reconciled with her ex-husband.

According to the agent, while her ex-husband retains ``custodial rights'' to take care of the child on a daily basis, Ms. Fukuhara also maintains ``joint custody,'' which is recognized in Taiwan, and that Ms. Fukuhara also participates in child-rearing through visitation and other means. We have reached an agreement that we will proceed.
