The "QuadCopter" is an unmanned aerial vehicle developed by the Israeli occupation army, and has been used extensively - since the start of the "Al-Aqsa Flood" battle on October 7, 2024 - in intelligence operations and targeting civilians.

It is characterized by its small size, high accuracy, and ease of programming and remote control to collect information. However, since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian resistance factions have been able to target a number of Quadcopter helicopters during their operations and take control of them.

Manufacture and development

The QuadCopter drone is a small helicopter that was developed for photographic purposes, but was transformed into an Israeli intelligence air force in recent years.

Since the start of the Israeli ground aggression against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2024, the occupation army has used this weapon to target civilians and infrastructure.

It was developed by the Israeli military industries company "Elbit Systems", and was used by the occupation between 2018 and 2019 in surveillance, monitoring and assassination operations in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. One of its disadvantages is that it is easy to target using assault rifles or light weapons.

The QuadCopter differs from other helicopters in that it has helicopters in every corner. It is characterized by ease of programming and smooth use. It also does not require high skill in use and can be employed directly in the field.

It was developed by the occupation to enable it to penetrate residential areas that are difficult for the infantry army to storm, and it flies at a height of hundreds of meters to provide the occupation army with pictures and a field survey of the target before targeting it to facilitate its storming by soldiers, with the possibility of carrying out assassinations automatically.

The Israeli company "Smart Shooter" has also developed an automatic weapon that is installed in the "QuadCopter" drone, to fire at fixed and moving targets during flight.

The QuadCopter drone has multiple tasks, including:

  • Surveillance, monitoring and tracking of fixed and moving targets.

  • Multi-rotor, allowing it to attack and operate independently.

  • A suicide plane used for bombing operations.

  • You can fire bullets, bombs, and gas bombs.

Mechanism of Action

The "Quadcapter" helicopter is used for sniping. It carries one or more rifles, and works with the technique of acquiring the target through the image using a camera installed in it, so that it photographs the target, tracks it, and provides soldiers with accurate information that helps them target.

Use of "Quad Capture" in Gaza

  • In November 2019, the occupation forces assassinated Bahaa Abu Al-Atta, a leader and military official in the Al-Quds Brigades, after a Quadcopter drone flew over his house.

  • In May 2021, the occupation announced the use of the Quadcopter drone to bomb sites of the Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad movement.

  • Since the beginning of Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” on October 7, 2024, the occupation army has intensified the use of “Quad Capture” in the Gaza Strip, especially in the residential areas above Al-Shifa Hospital and Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

Dropping the Quadcopter

With the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza on October 7, 2024, “Quad Capture” drones spread extensively in Khan Yunis, but the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), shot down some of them and took control of them, which enabled them to obtain a lot of information about The occupying army is among them.

This opportunity provided the possibility of downloading data that determines the locations of the occupation forces’ deployment, making it easier for the resistance to target them, in addition to studying and employing this aircraft in developing the resistance’s drones.

The most prominent operations of the resistance factions in controlling the "Quad Capter"
