A braid and collar are a must: with all the important accessories, the actor Daniel Brühl embodies the fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.

The new French series, filmed for the Disney+ streaming service, will be presented at the Canneseries festival from April 5th to 10th on the Côte d'Azur.

The actor Brühl, known from films such as "Good bye, Lenin!" or "The Fat Years Are Over," speaks French with a strong German accent - just like Lagerfeld, who had not lost his accent even after decades in France.

The six-part series, which is based on a French journalist's biography of Lagerfeld, tells the story of the fashion designer's rise to global style icon and his rivalry with Pierre Bergé and Yves Saint-Laurent.

Apartment is auctioned

Lagerfeld, who was born in Hamburg, died in 2019 at the age of 85.

He began his stellar career in the fashion world in Paris in the early 1950s and organized spectacular shows there.

His name is closely linked to the Chanel company, and he also developed his own brand.

His former Paris apartment is scheduled to be auctioned off at the end of March.

Of the 260 square meters, 50 square meters are the dressing room.

The starting bid is 5.3 million euros.

The apartment offers spectacular views of the Seine and the Louvre.

However, Lagerfeld had mostly darkened the windows.
