Lily Allen's days as a well-known pop singer have been over for a while: her career peaked in 2009 with the album "It's Not Me, It's You", and five years later she couldn't really follow it up with "Sheezus".

What was the issue?

“My children destroyed my career,” says the now 38-year-old in a podcast interview with “Radio Times.”

She laughs heartily and adds: "I love them, they fulfill me, but they ruined my life as a pop star."

It really annoys her when people say that you can have everything - children and a career - because that's obviously not true.

"Some people choose their career over their children, and that is their absolute right." She made a different decision: "My parents were often not there when I was a child, and that left really ugly scars on me." not repeat them with your own children.

She is glad that she decided to slow down and be there for her two daughters.

Their first daughter Ethel Mary was born in 2011, followed by Marni Rose in 2013.
