' (1975), died last weekend at the
age of 74
, his wife reported through the musician's website.
"It is with great sadness that we share the news of Eric Carmen's passing," wrote the artist's wife,
Amy Carmen
.
"Our sweet, loving and talented Eric left us in his sleep over the weekend. He would take comfort in knowing that, over the decades, his music touched so many people and that his music will be his lasting legacy. Please respect the privacy of the family as we mourn this great loss," adds Amy Carmen.
The message concludes with the quote "Love is all that matters... faithful and forever," part of the song
