In order to speed up emergency transportation, the Fire and Disaster Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications is conducting a demonstration experiment in which emergency teams read My Number cards integrated with health insurance cards at the scene and utilize information such as the medical institution the patient attends5. I am planning to start from the month.

According to the Fire and Disaster Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, when emergency teams decide where to transport a patient, they refer to the medical institution they are attending, but when the patient is unconscious, they are unable to obtain as much information as they would like and have to wait until the patient is transported. This means that it may take some time.

For this reason, the Fire and Disaster Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will begin a demonstration experiment in May that will allow emergency services to read My Number cards that are integrated with health insurance cards at the scene and obtain the necessary information for transportation. .

By inserting a patient's My Number card into a reader, a dedicated tablet device can be used to view the medical institutions the patient has visited, medications prescribed, and more, making accurate information useful for transportation.

In principle, the patient's consent is required to read the information, but if the patient is unconscious, the patient's consent can be obtained from the patient's family, etc., at the discretion of the emergency department commander. We will sequentially verify the effectiveness and issues at 67 fire department headquarters in 35 prefectures, and aim to introduce it nationwide by fiscal year 2020.

Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Matsumoto said, ``As more and more people are registering their My Number Card as a health insurance card, we would like to conduct a nationwide demonstration experiment and utilize the knowledge we have gained to build a better system.''
