British-American influencer Andrew Tate (37) and his brother Tristan (35) have been arrested again in Romania.

The reason is a European arrest warrant that Great Britain had obtained.

The Romanian news agency Mediafax reported this on Tuesday, citing the police.

A spokesman for Tate confirmed the arrest.

The brothers are charged in Romania with human trafficking and exploitation of young women.

The two men were initially arrested for 24 hours late on Monday evening in the village of Voluntari near Bucharest.

They were due to appear before a public prosecutor in Bucharest on Tuesday.

Although the public prosecutor's indictment has been ready since June 2023, there has not yet been a court hearing.

At large since August 2023

On December 30, 2022, the Tate brothers and two accomplices were arrested near Bucharest.

Three months later, this measure was converted into house arrest.

The defendants had been at large since August 2023, with the restriction that they were not allowed to leave Romania.

The four people are accused of forcing young women to take part in commercially distributed sex videos in Romania.

To do this, they are said to have used the so-called lover boy method: they used manipulation techniques to make the girls dependent on themselves.

Andrew Tate denies all allegations.

Andrew Tate became famous in 2016 when he was kicked out of the British “Big Brother” show after a video was made public in which he beat a woman with a belt.

As an influencer, he often presented himself with misogynistic statements.

On Instagram, Tate had 4.7 million followers before the company suspended his profile in August 2022.

In Britain and beyond he is considered the epitome of so-called toxic masculinity.
