In Ulm, the police shot a man who is said to have previously killed another man with a knife.

The 54-year-old is also said to have injured two women, according to the Ulm police, the public prosecutor's office and the Baden-Württemberg State Criminal Police Office (LKA).

Accordingly, the officers were notified by an emergency call on Sunday afternoon about a suspected homicide.

The background to the crime was initially unclear.

Attack on police officers

The police found a “bloody man” who was holding a knife in his hand and immediately attacked the officers.

The police shot at him and the man was injured.

According to information, rescue workers took him to a hospital, where he was operated on.

According to initial findings, he had previously attacked several people with a knife in an apartment, it said.

A 58-year-old was fatally injured and two women were taken to a clinic with some serious injuries.

The Ulm police are investigating the alleged knife attack, and the Baden-Württemberg LKA is investigating the shots fired by the police.
