As a measure to combat the soaring prices in Tokyo, a campaign has begun in which 10% of the amount paid using 2D code payments at supermarkets in Tokyo will be returned as points.

This initiative was launched by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government on the 11th in an effort to support the lives of Tokyo residents affected by soaring prices, and is targeting approximately 350,000 stores including supermarkets and restaurants in Tokyo.

At a supermarket in Sumida Ward, campaign flyers were put up just after 2:00 p.m., and shoppers immediately paid with two-dimensional codes.

There are four types of

2D code payments that can be used

: ▽ "au PAY"

▽ "d Payment"

▽ "PayPay" ▽ "Rakuten Pay"

10% of the amount paid will be returned as points.

The maximum number of points that can be returned is 3,000 yen each, and if you use all four types, you will get 12,000 yen back.

The campaign is scheduled to run until the 31st of this month, but it may end earlier if the budget is expected to be reached.

A woman in her 80s who made a purchase using 2D code payment said, ``As prices are soaring, I am struggling to make ends meet on my pension, so this is a great help.I would like to use it at various stores.''
